Our story
We've devoted our careers to understanding what's happening in conversations—especially when things go wrong. As a professor at Stanford, our Chief Scientist Chris Potts developed many of the foundational methods for detecting emotion in human communication and understanding the social dynamics of conversation. His research ranges widely over topics in machine learning, sentiment analysis, reasoning, information retrieval, interpretability, and language model programming—the essential toolkit for understanding conversational data at scale.
Chris landed his first when he was 14, and now we're bringing the same stoke to your conversational AI.
Our CEO Moritz Sudhof has spent 15 years bringing these insights into production—from building measurement systems that help organizations understand their users, to shipping conversational AI at scale as VP of AI at BetterUp. He's lived the reality of needing answers when traditional metrics fall short and leadership is asking questions you can't answer. Together, we've lived both the science of understanding conversations and the reality of deploying AI that has to actually work. We know what signals matter when AI fails.
